When I was training for my first marathon, my running partner said,”You make people feel like they can do anything.” So I used that as the basis for my life as a personal trainer and Pilates instructor. I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals, whether it’s helping a high school athlete discover and build his strength or a 76-year-old recover from back surgery on the Pilates reformer. In addition to running, lifting and Pilates, my fitness interests include hiking in the CVNP, cycling (road and mountain biking), horseback riding, skiing (downhill and cross country) and, most recently, snowshoeing. Mostly, I’d meet anyone anywhere to do anything active! I am a Hudson resident, mom to two girls and stepmom to one. My husband, Dave, is a financial planner who lends his expertise to the business end of HFP. Having owned Hudson Fitness & Pilates for the past 10 years, I have witnessed many success stories. I am so proud of my clients–first, for just walking in the door, not knowing exactly what their next hour holds, and second, for giving it their all every time.
I am a certified Personal Trainer through W.I.T.S (World Instructor Teaching Schools) and the Studio Manager at Hudson Fitness and Pilates. Growing up, I have been exposed to the active lifestyle. My fitness fanatic energy evolved at a young age from playing soccer, field hockey, and crew and developed to a new level when I got hooked on Crossfit, kickboxing, TRX, weightlifting, trail running, and biking. I love being outside whether it is hiking, biking or rock climbing, but my favorite thing to do outside is play with my dog. I believe fitness is an endless race of obstacles to challenge your body to see what it can accomplish. The feeling you get from beating you PR in a lift, running further and faster than you did last week, or completing a really hard workout never ceases to keep me hungry for more. With being so active, I am always looking for easy, creative, and healthy recipes to fuel my body right. I love to experiment in the kitchen and enjoy delicious food. I love to see the excitement of my athletes when they see their gains during their workouts and watch their lifestyle transform as they discover a newfound love for fitness. My goal is to show my clients how the work we do in the studio benefits their daily life and allows them use their fitness and functional movements as a steppingstone to accomplish other goals. Being able to enjoy all the incredible feats your body can do is simply amazing and I will do everything I can to take care of it.

ACE certified since 1995, I am the mother to four and grandma to 5. I have trained at Hudson Fitness & Pilates Studio since 2009 and also train clients in their homes. I have a long history of athletic competition in road running, duathlon, road cycling. cyclocross, trail running & mountain biking. I have been on Bike Authority’s cycling team, Lake Effect Racing, since 2007. In 2015 I will be racing for VeloFemme p/b Litzler. I enjoy hiking and cross country skiing. My favorite activity is running, especially on trails. My favorite outdoor activity, next to running, is mountain biking. I have an obsession with trails! My favorite indoor activity is lifting weights. As a trainer, I strive to keep workouts positive. I’m not a drill sergeant trainer. Somebody who is encouraged and feels good about their workout is more likely to keep at it. Fitness for me is who I am, not something I do. My lifestyle supports my belief that we are responsible for our spiritual, mental, and physical health. We need to take charge of all aspects of our health and not leave any to chance. I am passionate about eating a plant-based diet for health, ethical (I love ALL animals), and environmental reasons. One can’t ignore nutrition and expect to reach the full potential the good Lord intended. I transitioned from recreational athlete to competitive athlete in 1990 soon after my fourth child was born. Following is a list of highlights from the past 25 years: Winning my first race ever, the ROTC 5K at JCU in 1990, Placing 2nd and 3rd overall in Towpath Marathon in consecutive years, 1994 & 1995 (3;22, 3:21), Running a sub 40 min 10k (39:17), Running a 1:30 half-marathon, Running 18:29 for 5K, Repeat Champion at Fairport Harbor Triathlon/duathlon (5 separate years), 2008 State Criterium Champion Cat 4, Century Rides (Corn Challenge 3X), Hancock Horizontal Hundred in under 5 hours. I have been involved with physical fitness since the age of 8. I was a competitive gymnast throughout high school, competed in triathlons during my college years at Kent State and finished a marathon without training for it (which I do not recommend☺). I enjoy working with athletes of all ages and have coached high school gymnastics, track and basketball. Working out is a part of my daily routine, regardless of my schedule. My workouts are the time that I take for myself so that I can give to others the rest of the day. Only taking a day off every couple years, training relieves my daily stress and allows me to maintain a healthy diet without depriving myself of treats. I enjoy all forms of exercise and am always willing to try a new class or program. I also use my workout time to meet and connect with friends. I have been married for 21 years to my husband Mike and am the proud mother of three children.
